Bitcoincore.org Removes Bitcoin Whitepaper Page After Accused by CSW

Rhythm BlockBeats news, on January 21, the Bitcoincore.org website deleted the Bitcoin white paper page, and currently the website cannot see the Bitcoin white paper.

On January 20, both Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org received allegations from Craig S. Wright (CSW)'s legal team. In the accusation, CSW claims that CSW is the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, and has ownership of Bitcoin, the Bitcoin name, and the Bitcoin white paper, while Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org upload Bitcoin on the website. The act of providing the Bitcoin white paper for users to download for free constitutes an infringement, and CSW requires the two websites to immediately withdraw the Bitcoin white paper.

After receiving the lawyer’s allegations, Bitcoincore.org developers rushed without consulting Bitcoin.org developers After the website removed the Bitcoin white paper, and after less than two hours of public review, the code merged, the Bitcoin white paper was completely removed from Bitcoincore.org. But this behavior adds credibility to the accusation. This behavior can be understood as conveying the message to others that "the developers of Bitcoincore know that CSW is Satoshi Nakamoto".

But another website, Bitcoin.org did not choose to "disarm". On January 21, the Bitcoin.org official A statement was posted on the website responding to the allegations made by CSW.

Bitcoin.org mentioned in its response that the Bitcoin white paper was included in the original Bitcoin project documents, which There is no dispute that the project was released by Satoshi Nakamoto under the MIT license, so Bitcoin.org has the legal right to host the Bitcoin white paper. In addition, Satoshi has a known PGP public key, so from a cryptographic point of view, if someone claims to be Satoshi, it can be verified.

As a result, Bitcoin.org has called the allegations false and will continue to host the Bitcoin white paper. Bitcoin.org also called on other sites hosting the Bitcoin white paper to learn from their practices and to resist false allegations.
