The founder of EOS, who resigned and closed his cable account, what's next?

Read this article in 14 Minutes
Since the Bitshares and Steem, BM run away again.

Once again, EOS has become a hot topic in the coin circles. This time, EOS founder Daniel Larimer (BM) has announced his resignation from EOS parent company Block.one & NBSP; CTO position.

The announcement was made twice, once on Hive Blog and once on Voice, not on any of the other major social media platforms on Twitter, which were and are BM's social platforms.

In his resignation announcement, BM offered few new ideas. "We will continue to create free markets and ensure freedom and justice," he said. That's why he created EOS.

Remaining true to her original intention, where will BM go next?

"Family Business" Block. One

With the benefit of hindsight, BM's departure was portentous.

On January 4th of this year,"He tweeted, "Block. One"   Brendan Blumer (BB), CEO of Block.one & NBSP; And all product/service releases, all he can do is give advice on what BB is looking for. He has big plans and likes to do big things. "

By implication, BM said she didn't have any say and BB was in charge.

We look around our company from the perspective of BM. The CEO of Block.one is BB, and the CMO is BB's sister, Abby Blumer. BB's mother, Nancy Kasparek, left Bank of America in 2018 to "help her son manage EOSVC" for three years now.

Block.one looks more and more like a "family business," and BM is not part of the family.

Although BM also gave an explanation for his resignation, he said that "regulation is getting stricter and I don't want innovation to be regulated." EOS has already chosen to pay a fine of 24 million dollars to settle with the regulator SEC. Regulation may be part of the reason, but no one knows the real reason. What people can remember are BM's three start-ups and three exits.

BM's first two start-ups

In 2013, BM and Charles Hoskinson founded BitShares, a decentralized payment system with servers scattered around the world that can handle 100,000 trade requests per second. He hired a team to come up with the concept of DPOS for the first time.

In 2015, BM also co-founded a company called Cryptonomex with a group of developers, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding to focus on solving technical problems. After six months of development, the company released BitShares 2.0, a blockchain software based on Graphene technology, and licensed it to the community.

At the time, bitcoin stocks were dominated by Invictus Innovations Inc. The company held bitcoin, but lost half of its value due to the downturn. BM realized the importance of sustainable cash flow, but he made the mistake of issuing 500 million bit-shares and forced the consolidation of DNS/AGS/PTS holders' interests, resulting in a split in the community.

In the early of BM

In November 2015, in a community vote on whether to lower transaction fees, BM was defeated by major shareholders by a vote of 7 to 4. Either out of sadness or out of anger, BM left Bitcoin.

In early 2016, BM and Ned Scott co-founded Steem, a new project. The two agreed that BM would focus on technology and Ned Scott would be CEO. Soon after, the new company raised $220,000 in funding and successfully launched Steem tokens.

Just when everyone thought Steem was on a roll, BM abruptly left Steem in March 2017, saying that he had reached an amicable agreement with Ned Scott and that he would no longer be a shareholder in the project.

A month later, BM and BB started Block.one to prepare for a new project, EOS. Block.one & NBSP; Not only did it successfully close the $4.2 billion IC0, but it also received funding from well-known investors/institutions such as Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz, PayPal founder Peter Thiel and Bitmain.

After the completion of financing, the promotion of EOS development and ecological construction became the main work of BM. From the campaign node, to the launch of the main network, and then to the development and implementation of dApps, EOS ushered in the highlight in 2018, and the price of the token once touched $22. But with the bear market and Block.one's judgment of the regulatory environment, the team gradually moved away from operations related to the price of tokens.

The EOS community, without an official team-led community, began to "live and die".

The community has complained a lot about the inaction of Block.one. In recent year, except for the launch of EOSIO for Business, an enterprise service product, and the few messages that have been circulated, such as the holding of more than 240,000 Bitcoins and the value of more than $7 billion by its parent company, Block.one, most of the messages about EOS have been ridiculed.

BM announces the next new project

The first thing to be sure is that BM hasn't given up its Voice platform yet. For Voice, BM even gave up Twitter and Telegram.

On January 9, BM tweeted that "It's time to get off Twitter. If you want to follow me, please follow me on Voice."

In the EOS Telegram group, the "Daniel Larimer" account is listed as "deleted account," which BM apparently just deleted, and which she used to explain in the group after the news of the resignation leaked out.

Apparently, his response within the Telegram group was more informative.

BM said that during his time in charge of EOSIO, he came up with a new idea and discovered a new game in cryptocurrencies, a part of the market that is still unknown.

Regarding the new findings, he explained, "The hypothetical token would be more limited to currency positioning and not more widespread than EOS." Finally, after emphasizing that he was not announcing that he was working on a new project, BM cancelled Telegram.

Not surprisingly, BM's next Voice will be more focused on Voice. The platform that BM calls "changing the world" is far from changing the world. BM has been speaking on Voice a lot lately, much more than before. Maybe the next new project, we'll only see it on Voice.

Whether it's Bitstock, Steem or EOS, BM is a talented programmer whose solutions or concepts are mostly groundbreaking and have been repeatedly tested by subsequent entrepreneurs.

In his self-described departure from EOS, BM said he "did not want his innovations to be limited by government regulators" and would continue to "create free markets and ensure freedom and justice." In the past two years, due to the increasingly strict regulatory environment, Block.one has paid a high fine and resolved the illegal IC0 operation which was not registered at the beginning. However, in order to operate more safely and safely, Block.one has hardly conducted "intervention" on the EOS community or currency price in the past two years, trying to minimize the possibility of illegal operation.

The pandering to regulation seems to go against BM's original purpose.

As early as five years ago, in his autobiography, BM said he was committed to finding free market solutions, whether they were security claims, liberty or property.

From the earliest involvement in promoting Bitcoin, to the creation of Bitcoin stocks, to the creation of STEEM based on their own values, and later EOS, these projects were at least based on BM's original intention. This time, BM resigned, not so much leaving the "family business" that was taking shape, but the evolution of EOS since then has been very different from BM's original vision.

Whether Block.one, which left BM with more than $7 billion worth of bitcoin in its hands, can lead EOS out of the trough of widespread community disappointment is hard to tell, at least for now.
