One month later, the fifth phase of the "2020 NEXT" series of activities launched by Rhythm and KuCoin was successfully held on October 23. The new project DEGO team, this is also the first time for the team members to speak live in the Asia-Pacific region.
The host of this event is Wei Yihao, Marketing Director of Rhythm BlockBeats. The guests were Logan, the product manager of the DEGO project, and Damien, the core developer of DEGO. The two briefed the original intention of creating the DEGO project in the live broadcast room, as well as many stories about the DEGO team and development.
Logan: Hi, I'm Logan, Product Owner at DEGO. I am from Korea, and the languages I am more familiar with include Korean, Chinese and English. This is also our first live broadcast in the APAC region, thanks to Rhythm BlockBeats.
Damien: Hello, I am Damien, the core developer of DEGO, from Hong Kong, China. Familiar with Chinese (Mandarin), Cantonese and English.
Logan: We were originally a development team, and DEGO was actually developed by the development team. One day the team members shared an idea in the group, which made everyone very excited, and later decided to launch DEGO for research and development together. Before, the team members were doing their own development work, and everyone was working all over the world. With DEGO, it is also a distributed office, but the efficiency is very high, which is also in line with the spirit of the blockchain.
We want to make DEGO or something similar to DEGO Products, want to light up the blockchain. At present, there are not many good products in the industry, and many of them are forked. What we want to do is really interesting products, so that more people can get in touch with the blockchain and enjoy the dividends of the blockchain. For more information about DEGO’s future development, please refer to our document for further understanding, and the Chinese part will be gradually improved in the future.
Logan: Many of our ideas are carried out by the project leader L, and we will often conduct brainstorming. All of us love Lego. When the word DEGO was brought up, we all felt that it was exactly what we wanted. We have made some profits in this bull market of DeFi, and at this stage our funds are enough to develop DEGO for a period of time, so everyone is fully committed to the development. Our development intensity is about 16-20 hours per day.
So L pays attention to new technology and news, so he will put forward some ideas. And tonight (October 23) the Jobs NFT auction will be launched, and the team will award an iPhone 12 to the winner after the auction.
Damien: Logan is very humble. In fact, Jobs NFT was thought up by Logan. We launched NFTs of many characters, such as Vitalik, Satoshi Nakamoto, and Jobs, and these NFTs can also be used for mining. It is very interesting to think about these "god" characters who are "working" for users to mine. Of course, these NFTs now have some premiums, which may be because the market is more optimistic about us. In the future, we will give more empowerment to the NFTs that have already come out. In addition to mining and auctions, there will be many new ways to play.

Damien: Mining is ready. We found that the person who finally took the NFTs of Vitalik and Satoshi Nakamoto was a big Chinese family. After taking the pictures, the big family immediately put these two NFTs into mining. Perhaps TA did not see the regulations clearly. In order to prevent giant whales from dominating the mine, we set an upper limit for each address: 200 dego. In other words, although the face value of the NFT he photographed is 9999, mining will not be considered so high.
Our whole mining idea is anti-whale. Most mining projects may have collusion with large households or capital, and there will be problems with mining bullies. We are very disgusted with this. Therefore, our mining settings have an anti-oligopoly mechanism, and you will not have any special bonuses for mining as a mine master. Even if large households divide their assets into many different addresses for mining, these addresses will be taxed every time they move DEGO, so as to avoid some giant whales as much as possible.
Logan: Mining is actually a DEGO token distribution process. In the early days, we had the ability to ask friends around us to invest, but after weighing it, we still refused. Only purely decentralized projects can allow us developers to devote themselves to development without getting involved in some interest disputes. Our income is now some basic mining taxes to keep the team able to continue development. However, in the previous wave of DeFi bull market, our team has made some gains. Now everyone’s economic strength should be enough for the team to continue to develop for 3-5 years.
The Hunter function has actually been done. It is not launched because it may be better for us to focus on NFT at this stage. The roadmap of DEGO is actually changing all the time. We have been discussing what the market needs and what DEGO needs. Hunter may meet you later, but the product of the NFT module will meet you earlier. Many of our ideas are not currently available in the blockchain market, and we have been innovating.
We have researched a lot of public chains, in fact, some public chains are falsifying data (flushing volume), maybe three digits None of the users. We believe that it is unnecessary to develop a public chain at the beginning. Any product should be supported by users and the community. The DEGO development team attaches great importance to community opinions, and all our products are voted by the community. The DEGO team is open to community input. And DEGOChain may be launched after the community is relatively strong, we are also working on related work, and DEGOChain will appear when it should appear. This development work is not difficult, but the current ecology is not strong enough, and the value of DEGO comes from the community. The launch of DEGOChain will only be considered after the community is strong enough and rich in ecology.
Logan: We have been working overtime to follow up recently, and we are now in the final testing stage. DEGO's casting is a system, the underlying tool. The first stage is to open DEGO and use DEGO to mint NFT. Other tokens, such as ETH, will also be opened to mint other NFTs, but DEGO may still be consumed in the minting.
We will also cooperate with other teams, such as this cooperation with KuCoin. We accept cooperation as long as the community agrees. We are now also cooperating with some projects and companies, so I won’t disclose them in detail here.
In a word, this casting is not just for DEGO, it is an open system. We will launch the ERC908 standard soon to meet the needs of the product.
Damien: This is a reward for users who participate in our ecology, but we don’t want to disclose the specific use and so on too early . Our leader L will explain to you later, and I don’t want to limit everyone’s imagination too early.
Damien: We were also very surprised by this incident. Later, someone texted me, and I found out that DEGO was captured by Coinbase included. It must be thanks to various exchanges for their recognition of us. The most recognized is KuCoin, and we did not expect KuCoin to be so generous and support us. Other trading platforms also contacted us, but they did not provide such great support to KuCoin, and did not give users some practical benefits. We welcome cooperation with everyone, but we still care most about whether it brings benefits to users.
Logan: I personally have reservations about blockchain games. I have also been involved in the development of several traditional games before, including AAA. I think the current blockchain ecology is not ready for how to find good games suitable for the blockchain ecology.
One of the big problems that block chain games have not developed is the correlation of interests, and this contradiction cannot be resolved in a short time . The significance of GameFi lies in finance, and how gamified finance can be better accepted. Of course, DEGO also has plans to try gamification.
GameFi will expose more people to the decentralized world, but not the blockchain game world.
Damien: Everyone complains that the gas fee spent on DEGO operations is too high. This is also a mechanism problem, because DEGO There are also many complex ways to play contracts, so calling more contracts will naturally increase the Gas fee. For us, user experience is very important. In order to allow everyone to participate better, we decided to migrate to BSC. For us, the time cost is the lowest, and the cost for users is lower.
We think that everyone cares more about the chain than the product, which is very sick. In fact, as a blockchain novice, it doesn’t matter what chain you choose for novice users. You must be more concerned about whether the product is easy to use.
In the future, we will launch more games on BSC, and we may not go to other chains for the time being. Of course, we can’t say it absolutely. If there is a chain with a better ecology in the future, we may also consider migrating to it.
Logan: Our plan is actually constantly changing. We are constantly researching, observing changes in the entire blockchain world and then adjusting accordingly. In fact, many blockchain developers don't know what they are doing, they are just completing the code work, and they don't understand the products they develop. The developers of DEGO are currently distributed in four continents, with different regions and cultures. Therefore, we will consider the industry situation of the blockchain to adjust the development progress and so on.
DEGO is not simply developing a single product, but different people are responsible for different modules, how to build it in the future will be up to the The community decides. DEGO is a component of our ecology, and there will be more tools in the future, and the use of these tools will more or less consume a certain amount of DEGO tokens.

Logan: We also think about this issue a lot. NFT is not limited to art, art is only something that a few people can enjoy. For example, giant whales may be more interested in art, but in fact, most users do not understand art. There is an Indonesian user who is using DEGO. He has been buying and selling NFTs, and in this way he has settled the tuition fees of his relatives. He later wrote us an email to thank DEGO for helping him solve some problems at home. I think this is what blockchain should help users achieve.
Art is inaccessible to disadvantaged groups or people in the third world, and there is nothing increment. DEGO has more than 100,000 NFT recipients under certain restrictions. The transaction fee on DEGO consumed more than 3,500 ETH, which is a data that surprised us.
Logan: Thanks to Chinese users and Rhythm for their support, we currently have documents in various languages and are continuously updating them. Many of these documents are translated by the community spontaneously, and I am very grateful to friends in China for their support. I am very sorry that due to the development team, many of our developers are native speakers of English, so sometimes the content we publish will be published in English first. We will work hard to make more localized products in the future.
Damien: Thank you KuCoin and Rhythm BlockBeats. I hope you will pay more attention to us, we will launch a lot of new things in the next two weeks. If you followed the English AMA yesterday, you should know that we will launch new features soon. You can look for some clues in the NFT map.
We will open a new Program soon, so that everyone can find bugs for us and provide suggestions for development direction. There is an old saying in China that goes, "A lot of people add firewood, and a flame burns brightly." I hope you will support us a lot.
