The Graph Curator curator task overview

Read this article in 12 Minutes
The Graph takes you into a new world of Web3 data.
Original title: "graph curator first stage task"
Original source: Bihu, Flying Frog

Welcome to join The Graph's Curator Program! The goal of the Curator Program is to get you thinking about the new world of Web3 data.

The curator may not be a technician. As a curator, it is paramount to leverage your knowledge of the crypto ecosystem to ensure high-quality data is available to applications that rely on The Graph. Throughout the phases, you'll learn more about applications currently using The Graph, become familiar with subgraphs, and prepare for signaling on The Graph network.

There will be technical and non-technical tasks at each stage of the Curatorial Program. Curator Grants will be awarded to curators based on contributions to the network and completion of tasks, but completion of all tasks is not required.

Phase One: Everest and beyond

In Phase 1, curators will be asked to familiarize themselves with and contribute to Everest, and thinking about Web3 data at The Graph. Please submit a Phase 1 Completion Form, including a description of your work in Phase 1 tasks and relevant links.

● Phase One: Mount Everest and Beyond

● Curator Initiation

Task 1: Climbing Mount Everest

< /p>

Everest is a built with subgraph, IPFS and 3Box on Ethereum The decentralized project registry. Everest is a great example of how a useful curation dApp can be applied to many different kinds of data.

We believe that Everest is an important tool for us to start guiding ourselves to use decentralized applications. Where else can you find a solid list of crypto projects maintained and curated by the community? Your contribution to Everest helps the crypto community learn, grow, and move closer to a vibrant decentralized future.

Complete the task by submitting the Stage 1 Completion Form with responses, relevant links, and instructions about the task. You don't need to complete all tasks.

The following are the components of Mission 1:

A. Help Mount Everest

go to Everest, for the chain project Registry contributes. Add, claim, challenge or vote on projects. Everest's success as a source of accurate data on the status of crypto projects depends on community engagement.

Everest also needs to accurately represent the crypto industry. Suggest new categories by submitting issues to the Everest Curator Program Repo  and subcategories. Let's grab the whole Web3 ecosystem!

Note that interacting with Everest may cost 1$-20 depending on network congestion $ between gas. Adding a project also costs 10 DAI, and these DAI will enter the Everest reserve for future development of Everest. Fees will not be reimbursed to reduce operational overhead. Using Everest is not required.

B. Spread the information of other people's online projects on Mount Everest

< p>

Everest currently has more than 280 projects covering 19 categories. As the project dataset grows, it becomes more valuable to end users and other applications. Encourage other projects to host at Everest!

Message a friend, tweet, share on social channels and let new projects join Everest, which helps projects get claimed and ensures that project owners are accurate. That's the beauty of community-curated registries.

C. Create Issues for New Everest Features

Everest is a community project initiated by the MetaCartel community. As such, The Graph hopes that future development will continue to be an ecosystem endeavor. Submit questions about new Everest features to the Curator Program Repo.

For example, new info fields, bug fixes, design suggestions. You made Everest!

D. Thoughts on Everest Integration

< /p>

Suggest how to integrate Everest dApp or subgraph with other dApps. Which existing projects can use on-chain project data? Which dApps can use the Everest subgraph?

Additionally, determine that other valuable on-chain registries should exist. This could be a fork of Everest or a separate dApp. Think about which registry submaps will be most useful in the future.

Task 2: Web3 Data and More

In addition to playing with Mount Everest, the first stage is to be familiar with blockchain data.

It may be difficult to conceptualize the use of "blockchain data", but take the data queried by the application as an example, including transaction volume of exchanges, DeFi lending rates, User balances, DAO votes, prices of NFT artwork, etc. Over 3,000 subgraphs have been deployed and currently power applications such as Uniswap, Synthetix, CoinGecko, Aragon, KnownOrigin, and more!

Subgraph The best part is that any application can use them because they are open APIs, thus greatly reducing redundant back-end development work. They also allow developers to run serverless applications, eliminating central points of failure.

The following are the tasks of Mission 2:

< /p>

A. Playing with the Graph Explorer

Familiarize yourself with the Graph Explorer and which applications are using subgraphs today. Search subgraphs to learn about the breadth of The Graph datasets.

B. Propose new subgraphs

The more data you index, the more valuable The Graph becomes. Suggest new subgraphs (currently not in Explorer), and which dApps, smart contracts, or datasets should be indexed on The Graph.

C. Communication subgraphs  Usage

The more data a Graph is indexed, the more valuable it is. Developers and other dApps are encouraged

a) to create new  subgraphs , or

b) Integrate additional subgraphs  onto mainnet. Ethereum, IPFS, and POA are currently supported.

D. Create relevant Content for subgraphs  and Open Data

Promote the use of  subgraphs  and the value of open data by creating content and sharing insights on social channels.

Community Contribution

Throughout the Curator Program, we encourage you to also create content, marketing and other communications about The Graph, the value of being a curator and Web3 data, for example:

● Write blogs, create content, memos and social shares about The Graph. Share accordingly in the #showcase or #memes Discord channels.

● Help other curators and the wider community in The Graph Discord.

● Contribute to Github repositories, wikis, documentation and other communications. Share accordingly in the #workshops-and-tutorials channel on Discord.

● Develop the "graph" community and usage.

Allow Content

● Be real!

● Share experiences and insights that are meaningful to you and that you think will be helpful to others.

● Share new ideas and research.

Prohibited Content

Follow tokens, prices or make money.

Phase 1: Mission Successful

To complete Phase 1, you must submit the following documents.

1. Sign the planner agreement

2. Fill in Phase One Completion Form

You do not need to complete all tasks. When submitting the Phase 1 Completion Form, please fill in all information pertaining to your efforts, but we do not expect all tasks and missions to be completed. Contribute as much as possible!
