The fifth phase of 2020 NEXT: 9 new projects, involving multiple fields

Read this article in 12 Minutes
New and old projects have begun to work hard, and the market is undergoing changes.

The "2020 NEXT" series of activities launched by Rhythm and KuCoin has come to the fifth issue. Event page: https://www.theblockbeats.com/live

Since the event was launched in July, NEXT has successfully held four sessions. A total of 7 high-quality projects were invited to visit the Rhythm live broadcast room, covering DeFi, PoC mining, and Internet of Things protocols.

People’s pursuit of liquidity mining has slowed down, and the NFT market seems to have won the attention of investors. NFT projects based on DEGO have attracted many pioneer players. On the other hand, the star sharding project NEAR started the second phase of the main network, and the decentralized index protocol The graph started token sales... New and old projects have begun to work hard, and the market is undergoing changes.

In order to discover more high-quality projects and better capture the market heat. Rhythm BlockBeats has updated the candidate projects and added several new projects that are progressing well. The results of the fifth phase of the campaign will be announced on October 20.

There are 9 new items in this event:

DeFi Liquidity Mining Leading Project YFI;

This month will launch the sharding project of the final phase of the mainnet NEAR;

interchain exchange protocolKira< /span>;

Decentralized Index ProtocolThe Graph;

Blockchain privacy computing platformOasis;

Decentralized streaming media projectProps;

Ethereum Elastic Zone BlockchainSkale;

A high-performance public chain that attracts the derivative DEX rookie SerumSolana;

< p line="4TtL">And the much-discussed NFT+ liquidity mining project DEGO.

YFI

YFI, as the booster of this wave of liquidity mining boom, is hailed by the community as the "top leader" in the DeFi world. It can be said that without the fair mining advocated by YFI, it is still unknown whether DeFi can form the scale it is today. And its founder, Andre Cronje, also has the magical effect of "calling the wind and calling the rain" in the encryption market. Many crypto investors and developers are overwhelmed by their personal abilities and beliefs. Although they have experienced some negative news after the launch of YFI, they still cannot erase their contributions to the community and ecology.

NEAR

The star sharding public chain NEAR has had a lot of good news since September this year. On September 25, NEAR’s official account announced that the foundation has completely withdrawn from the operation of nodes, and the NEAR mainnet has been decentralized.  Then on October 13, NEAR launched the final stage of the mainnet, and the transfer function has been opened.

NEAR, as one of the strong competitors of Ethereum, has obtained investment including MultiCoin Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Electric Capital, Homebrew, Amplify, MetaStable, Baidu Ventures, SVAngel, ACCOMPLICE and other investment institutions invested.

The Graph

The Graph is an indexing protocol for organizing and efficiently accessing data in blockchains and storage networks. The graph currently supports indexing data from Ethereum, IPFS, and POA, with more networks to come in the future. So far, more than 1700 subgraphs have been deployed for applications such as Uniswap, Synthetix, Aragon, Gnosis, Balancer, Livepeer, DAOstack, AAVE, and decentralized. On July 31, The Graph announced the launch of its incentivized testnet.

The Graph has previously raised $7.5 million to build and launch a platform for indexing and querying blockchain data Decentralized network. The project announced that it will conduct a token sale on October 23, with a unit price of 0.03 US dollars, and it is expected to sell 400 million GRT tokens.

Kira

Kira protocol is a set of protocols developed by the Kira Core team. It uses the original multi-asset pledge binding proof MBPoS (Multi-Bonded Proof of Stake) consensus protocol to release the liquidity of pledged assets while ensuring network security. This protocol is based on Tendermint and belongs to the BFT consensus protocol system. Kira aims to provide pledged token liquidity for Staking projects, and acts as a liquidity releaser in the Cosmos ecosystem.

Oasis

The mainnet Beta of the blockchain privacy computing platform Oasis Protocol was launched on October 1st. According to the official introduction, the Oasis network is the first scalable, privacy-preserving blockchain that can maintain the confidentiality and privacy of data. Oasis has raised about $45 million between 2018 and 2020.

Props

Props is a project focusing on the decentralized video application system. Based in Delaware, USA, the Props Network is managed by Props PBC, a public benefit corporation, and aims to empower those who help digital communities thrive. Props provides an open-source infrastructure for a network of applications that transparently and fairly use shared tokens to reward users.

Accepted SEC approval in July 2019, approved by proxy in April 2020 The sale raised $2 million. The financing was led by Union Square Ventures (USV) and Borderless Capital. The Props team has strong media experience and resources. In April of this year, Props announced that it would migrate the private chain platform PropsChain from Ethereum to the open source public chain Algorand.

Skale

The SKALE network is a layer-2 expansion solution that is fully compatible with the Ethereum mainnet. Its block generation time reaches the sub-second level, and the throughput of each SKALE chain can achieve 2000tps, and it can deploy full-state smart contracts, support decentralized storage, implement Rollups scheme and EVM machine learning. SKALE closed its public sale on September 11, selling over 167 million SKL tokens worth just over $5 million. This was followed by the announcement of the second phase of its mainnet on October 1.

Solana

The Solana network adopts a PoH-based clock mechanism, and also optimizes the consensus mechanism, data broadcasting, parallel transaction processing, and state data storage with a separate node network. The purpose is to achieve a certain degree of decentralization and security. High throughput, low latency and low cost can meet the needs of users in most scenarios.

This year, the Serum project, which is advised by SBF, has become the first project built on the Solana public chain without third-party support A decentralized exchange that trusts cross-chain transactions. On August 14, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried tweeted that the Serum project based on the Solana public chain had completed its first on-chain transaction, and the transaction fee was only 0.000005 SOL (approximately $0.000019).

DEGO

The DeFi liquidity mining project incorporates the concept of NFT. Once DEGO was launched, it aroused heated discussions in the community. Inspired by LEGO building blocks, DEGO tries to piece together the building blocks in the DeFi world. NFT on DEGO still has governance value, and NFT holders can also participate in the governance of the DEGO protocol.

The DEGO chain will be developed based on the Substrate framework and will eventually become a parachain in the Polkadot ecosystem. Thanks to the XCMP cross-chain protocol, users can use encrypted assets on other chains to interact with the DEGO ecosystem. DEGO will work with other ecologies to build a cross-chain DeFi world.
