The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an intergovernmental organization that promotes economic policy, released a report on October 13, in which it said it is planning to publish a tax reporting framework for cryptocurrency assets by 2021.

In a report published recently, the OECD said it was "advancing work on designing a tax reporting framework to ensure transparency in taxation related to crypto assets, including taxation on the sale of such assets." According to the report, the framework could be used by countries seeking to strengthen crypto tax regimes, such as G20 members.
The ORGANIZATION for Economic Cooperation and Development is also studying technical issues and deciding whether crypto wallet providers should be included in its framework in addition to crypto transactions. The group is also assessing whether "income from crypto assets and information on the value of holding crypto assets should be recorded and reported in addition to reporting sales revenues".
The OECD said it aims to present a "comprehensive implementation plan" to the G20 in 2021.
