律动BlockBeats 消息，8 月 12 日，比特股（BTS）论坛上比特股社区成员发布了《公会关于 4.0 版本升级的声明——致所有见证人》。声明中称， 在 BTS4.0 版本升级中，个别开发人员在社区不知情的情况下，私自篡改投票系统，造成极其恶劣的影响 。因此公会开发了 4.0 版本补丁程序，该补丁程序目的是将投票系统恢复成 4.0 版本之前的状态，以消除不良影响。该补丁仅修复了未经社区投票私自增加的变更，不影响 4.0 版本其他功能的正常使用。该补丁文件将在北京时间 2020 年 8 月 20 日 21：55 分自动生效。
随后 「比特股」 公众号发文表示，比特股（BTS）将在北京时间 2020 年 8 月 20 日 21：55 进行硬分叉。
