Profit-sharing tokens: a new incentive to open up the Web
With the launch of SmartWeave, we introduced the profit-sharing token, a system that allows developers to monetize their PermaWeb permanent web apps. Profit-sharing tokens are an entirely new way to motivate founders and developers to build Web services. Instead of monetizing apps by selling users' attention and data, the profit-sharing token allows app developers to receive a series of "micro-bonuses" while their apps are being used. This allows the developer to continue to prioritize the user experience throughout the development process. Arweave + SKALE Bridge interoperability construction
Arweave and SKALE have created a Gitcoin bounty designed to integrate Arweave into the SKALE protocol's permanent data storage layer.

ARCA DAO
This month, the ARCA DAO completed the first Alpha release of PermaSnap, an application that allows users to tag photos and upload them directly from Android or iOS devices to the PermaWeb permanent network.
ARCA will also fund and organize programs such as rewards and small community hackathons to encourage the development of identity standards within the permanent network based on Arweed-ID.

Arweave 2.1 removes the maximum amount of data per transaction. Whereas previously the uploader would have included the data payload in the transaction itself, the Arweave protocol now supports merkle-root specifying the data, effectively serving as a "transaction header." The data is then uploaded in blocks that do not slow down the chain and support operations such as retry and restore.
