Ethereum Layer 2 expands project State Channels to launch Web3Torrent, encouraging file sharing through micropayments

In a rhythmical BlockBeats announcement, Eethum Layer 2, an extensible technology, State Channels, launched Web3Torrent, a browser seed download client, on June 18th.

State Channels enables trust-free, instant, and fee-free transactions between fixed groups of users. Web3Torrent supports the use of micro payments to encourage P2P file sharing. Micropayments use State channels built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Users can upload files and start seeding, making money from the people who download them. Web3Torrent is currently running on the Goerli beta site.
