Decentralized financial markets have largely weathered this year's economic storm and matured further. While the overall cryptographic market remains relatively flat, the evolution of DeFi is striking, and this new financial landscape could have a much bigger impact on Ethereum than IC0.
Ethereum provides the basis for DeFi, which is currently also a global standard for intelligent contracts on which various encryption protocols are built and run. So, because Ethereum is at the heart of the financial landscape, the growth of this ecosystem would be very good for it.
DeFi market grows fast & NBSP;
The total value of DeFi market locks is just under $1bn, according to DeFi Pulse, although BlockBeats has reported that DeFi market capitalisation has exceeded $1bn at least twice this year. The market crash since March 12 caused TVL to fall to $550 million, but now DeFi has recovered 77%.

In just 18 months, DeFi's mortgage assets have grown nearly 300% in value when denominated in dollars. This number, of course, varies with the rise and fall of cryptocurrency prices, but it has grown faster than 110% of the total cryptocurrency market value over the same period.
As far as ETH is concerned, it is the backbone of this new financial ecosystem, with 2.5 million ETH locks, or 2.25 per cent of the total supply, according to Rhythm. Maker is undoubtedly the dominant force in DeFi (though the Compound has gained momentum recently), occupying almost half of the total& have spent Market share, with approximately 2 million ETH locks in Maker. Other popular platforms include Synthetix, Compound, which is currently distributing tokens, and Aave. What's interesting is that almost every week, new platforms appear.
DeFi reached several important milestones in May. According to LAW, the number of new DeFi assets has exceeded 1,000 and DeFi's user base has reached an all-time high of nearly 200,000.
DeFi project & have spent Zerion "The increase in the supply of DeFi assets can be explained by Ben Thompson's aggregation theory. Just as the Internet has done to content, so has the impact of DeFi on finance."

Another chart from Dune Analytics shows that the number of DeFi users has almost doubled to nearly 200,000 since the beginning of the year.

Hold the same view more than one, rhythm found venture capital firm Placeholder partner Chris Burniske also think DeFi to ittai fang will affect more than 2017 and 2018 IC0 affect the etheric fang: "IC0 prosperity has weakened the etheric fang's ability to provide financial services: the early capital formation. The flexibility of DeFi will inspire the etheric fang ability, to perform a * all * financial services."

The IC0 release provides a way for cryptographic projects to raise money on Ethereum through token sales. While this bubble was relatively small compared to traditional investments, it drove the price of Ethereum sky-high, reaching $1,400 in January 2018.
Unfortunately, most projects that issue tokens end up with no "product." In addition, there was a lot of "hype," which explains why almost every counterfeit token suffered a big plunge in the six months between q4 2017 and Q1 2018. By mid-2018, failed cryptography projects began dumping their Ethereum funds, causing prices to plunge 94% that year.
Fast forward to 2020, and there's more activity on the chain, especially for Ethereum. At the same time, DeFi has naturally achieved impressive growth without the mania or buying frenzy of previous years.
Traders and analysts note that this growth will continue and is likely to exceed 2017.
The continued growth of ETH 2.0 and DeFi is likely to lead to higher capital flows in three months over the next two years compared to 2017. The IC0 boom will be replaced by another portal. But in contrast to the style of 2017, encryption itself remains largely out of the spotlight. Each cycle will reinforce previous narratives and introduce new ones that further drive the transformation of users, vendors, developers, and investors.
DeFi expert Ryan Sean Adams compares DeFi to the stock market in his latest Bankless Newsletter. The stock market, he says, pretends to be a capital asset but has become a savings account for the rich. The stock market is based on the Fed's current actions and its continuing efforts to artificially inflate its value by printing more money.
Adams goes on to add that DeFi has been around since 2017, but it was then called IC0s, as noted above. Since the days of wild speculation have passed, DeFi has matured in several ways. DeFi is now a complete financial ecosystem, not a casino for speculators. It can perform a variety of operations, including payment, borrowing, borrowing, saving, trading, investing, profitability, management, hedging and margin trading.
Economic bandwidths are expanding, stabilisers are worth more than $7 billion, and half the value of ERC-20 tokens is based on Ethereum. As operations have grown in scale, real-time trading is now capable of thousands of transactions per second. Cash flows from stocks are settled in the legal system, while cash flows from non-fixed assets such as cryptocurrencies are settled down the chain. We are now injecting rocket fuel into DeFi assets by opening up new growth and governance mechanisms.
