Original title: Danny Ryan: Eth2 Phase 1 is developing fast and is expected to be out soon after Stage 0 launches.
Original post by Shaurya Malwa
Ethereum's upcoming Eth 2.0 (Senerity) upgrade is much anticipated in the cryptocurrency space. The upgrade will see the ethereum blockchain protocol move from PoW to PoS consensus, introducing scalability, security and performance improvements.
In a recent answer to Reddit's NBSP; Among the questions from the R/EthFinance community, Eethum developer Danny Ryan seemed optimistic, taking care to explain the various phases of Eth2.0, the upcoming features of Eth2.0, and even the concerns about the potential concentration of Staking among speculative pledgers.
After phase 0 is launched, phase 1 May be launched soon
Currently, most of the Eth2.0 developers' work is focused on startup phase 0 (beacon chain). However, Ryan points out that Phase 1 is also evolving rapidly and should be available soon once Phase 0 is online.
Ryan points out, for example, Raspberry Pi 4& NBSP; (Raspberry pie 4)& NBSP; Such a computer would "probably" be able to cope with phase 0, but a phase 1 implementation would probably require more powerful hardware.
Some issues in the R/EthFinance community point to NBSP; having a similar goal or output model; Dapps Decentralized applications can theoretically run on specific shards to increase speed and output. At this point, Ryan suggests that a DEFI-specific sharding is not impossible.
The community noticed that the idea of "ETH 3.0" had been proposed by some developers, which involved replacing some of the eether's components with zk-snarks to create an "anti-quantum" platform. Currently, privacy protocols such as Zcash are already using the Zk-Snarks schema.
While some community members have expressed these thoughts, ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has also expressed his own, Posting a comment on Reddit:
"For now, I agree that the basic structure of Ethereum will not change after [Eth2.0] is launched; it will only be incremental."
Respond to concerns about Staking
Ryan said ethereum developers were "aware" of the community's concerns about the centralization of Staking from locking 32 ETH to run the verifier node, and said the developer team could discuss this after the start of Phase 0. He revealed that the original plan included ETH transfers between verifier nodes, but this was dropped in the final design.
Ryan said there should be "incentives" to prevent the "Staking as a service" provider from growing too big. This is likely to prevent a concentration of bitcoin-like mining, with several pools currently controlling up to 60% of the bitcoin network hash rate, theoretically creating a 51% attack scenario.
Ryan said that the development team is committed to getting the entire Ethereum community involved and ensuring that the network expands to as many clients as possible. Penalties are also set to prevent verifiers from concentrating on a particular client or other point of failure.
According to previous reports, a survey conducted last month by Talsys, the developer of Eethum, found that most respondents expected Staking to be a form of passive income, and 65% said they intended to participate in Eth2 Staking.
