Beat BlockBeats, Algorand foundation today announced the official launch of the 250 million ALGO token award program to reward applications based on the Algorand blockchain to advance platform infrastructure, end-user applications, and research and innovation. The scheme will be global and run for years.
The 250 million ALGO (currently $50 million) award will be distributed to developers in four areas: innovative research, platform infrastructure developer tools, chain centric applications (DApp), and community outreach and education programs. Potential applications include DeFi (decentralized finance), payments, asset transactions, social media integration, supply chain, copyright, and asset scrip.
So far, three projects have received partial awards:
Bloq: an infrastructure provider that supports multiple blockchains. Bloq will provide node and API services for Algorand and several other major blockchains.
PureStake AlgoSigner: an open source browser wallet plug-in. Developers can add Algorand transaction functionality to their applications while allowing users to host their own wallet keys.
Reach: a DApp development platform that lowers barriers for developers. Developers will be able to easily develop daos, DEX and attitudes on Algorand via Reach. (decentralized finance) and so on.

The positive impact of the project on the Algorand pan-community and the ecology as a whole is one of the key criteria for selection. In addition, the quality of the submitted work, the technical and academic background of the proposal, the development space, and the team behind the project are also considered.
Currently, the Algorand foundation will be responsible for project evaluation of the award program. In the future, the Algorand foundation plans to introduce an open award program to allow the wider community to vote on which projects should be awarded.
In support of the award participants, the Algorand developer website has updated its tutorials, solutions and resources to make it easier and easier for developers to participate in Algorand development.
Interested developers can visit the foundation's website at:https://algorand.foundation to submit an application.
