China mobile said in an annual report that 5G will provide better carriers and more scenarios for the large-scale application of artificial intelligence, Internet of things, cloud computing, big data, edge computing and blockchain technologies, and promote the digital transformation of thousands of industries and the upgrading of digital life consumption, the Beijing news reported.

According to the annual report, by the end of February 2020, China mobile's 5G package customers had reached 15.4 million, maintaining the industry's leading position. In 2019, the company's operating income was 745.9 billion yuan, up 1.2% year on year, of which the revenue of communication services grew only 0.5%. Profit attributable to shareholders was 106.6 billion yuan, down 9.5% year on year.
