Coindesk (Coindesk)reportsPepsiCo inc., the food and beverage giant and maker of pepsi-cola, conducted a blockchain trial that improved supply chain efficiency by 28 percent.
The trial, called Project Proton, aims to see if blockchain can solve "industry challenges" in programmatic advertising. This work compares the control budget with the test budget to measure the effectiveness of the technology. The announcement was made on May 6 by Mindshare, a Pepsi co-media project using the Zilliqa blockchain platform. Zilliqa's smart contracts were further used to automate the programmatic supply chain.
"These smart contracts coordinate data from multiple sourcesPayments are made using internal native affiliate tokens (NAT), almost in real time, providing brand owners with high efficiency and complete transparency. "
According to the study, "when conducting campaigns through smart contracts, there was an increase in efficiency in terms of advertising costs compared to when smart contracts were not used."Other partners in the project include online advertising firm Rubicon, programmatic marketing technology company MediaMath and media company Integral Ad Science.
The trial took place in the asia-pacific region in March. Now, the partner program runs phase two plusAdd fees paid to publishers and add more performance indicator references.
Farida Shakhshir, Pepsi's director of consumer engagement for Asia, the Middle East and north Africa, said: "the results are encouraging and we plan to conduct more activities under different conditions to test more hypotheses and measure the overall impact."
