Dapp market reportThe most comprehensive data has been summarized recently and observations on four major blockchains have been provided.
Ethereum, EOS, Steem, and Tron represent the entire blockchain ecosystem with the most active users on the market.
A total of 504 new dapps were added to Dapp.com in the first quarter of 2019, with ether-based dapps accounting for more than half of new dapps, suggesting that Ethereum remains the preferred option for developers building dapps. At the same time, the report also reveals the trend of multi-chain development, with many ethereum dapps extending across multiple chains, such as ethereum + EOS or ethereum + Tron.
In terms of Dapp activity, 95% of EOS dapps remained active -- 326 of EOS's 341 dapps were transacted in the first quarter. More than 80 percent of Dapp users based on Steem and TRON networks are also active.
But while ethereum outnumbered other chains in the number of dapps, nearly 600 were "inactive" in the past three months, with no transactions recorded.

Dapp volume
The four major blockchains maintained strong momentum in the first quarter, with a total transaction volume of $3.2 billion. EOS and TRON are the leaders in the dapp ecosystem in terms of volume of transactions, each exceeding $1 billion. For Ethererum, with transaction costs at zero, the debate between PoS (or DPoS) and PoW will continue to revolve around efficiency and questionable bot transactions.
User growth and activity in the four major chains
TRON's dapp program has more than 300,000 active users, followed by EOS with about 260,000 active users. By the end of the first quarter of 2019, more than 2.3 million wallets had been created on the TRON main network. Among them, 15.46% are dapp users, an increase of nearly 1.5 times since the beginning of 2019.
On the other hand, the growth of new users of Dapp is mainly driven by gambling software, which has brought nearly 350,000 users to the Dapp ecosystem. The growth in gaming and exchanges went hand in hand, with both sectors attracting about 90,000 new users in the first quarter
Ethereum: in addition to gamers, Dapp users are leaving
Growth in dapp users has not kept pace with the number of wallet addresses on ethereum's main network, with the percentage of dapp users down about 4% from a year earlier. At the same time, data shows that many of ethereum's longtime users (who used dapp in 2018) are leaving, with only 72,422 of them still using dapp in 2019, or just 7% of those who used dapp in 2018.
The distribution of Ethereum blockchain sales hasn't changed much since 2018, with DEXs accounting for more than 50%, followed by gambling apps. One interesting statistic here is that Ethereum players are the most active of all dapp users. More than 40 per cent of dapp's daily active users are gaming users, but these account for only 30 per cent of total active users in the first quarter. In other words, ethereum-based games have created a stable community with a loyal audience.

EOS: a more diverse Dapp ecosystem
Much has changed since the launch of EOS dapp in 2018. EOS gambling apps accounted for 99 percent of its sales last year. However, since the first quarter of 2019, the dapp ecosystem on EOS has become more diverse, with more gaming and financial services platforms joining the mix.

Steem:User activity is not high
Steem is no longer just a social application. In the firstGames, gambling, tools and other applications boomed in the first quarter. The total volume of digital gambling apps climbed to 94%, up 104.35%.
Steemit is the largest dapp on Steem, with 10 million monthly visitors, according to SimilarWeb. But Steem had fewer than 100,000 online users in the first quarter. On Steem's block chain, "on-chain users" refer to those who have activities such as transferring money, voting and Posting content, which are recorded On the block chain.

Tron: fastest growing user base and record single-day trading volume
TRON is the fastest growing ecosystem for dapp in 2019. Both the number of major online wallets and the number of new dapp users had the highest growth rates. It is worth noting that approximately 85% of TRON dapp users used dapp in the first quarter, the highest user activity among the four blockchains.
TRON's total volume was also impressive. It topped $91 million on March 15, far surpassing the all-time highs for ethereum and EOS dapps.
