The EOSIO blockchain protocol has officially been renamed as Antelope, making it truly independent to build a broad ecosystem

Following a conflict with Block. One, the EOSIO blockchain protocol has officially been renamed community-led Antelope, according to official news. Under the leadership of the EOS Network Foundation, four blockchains based on the EOSIO protocol formed the EOSIO+ Consortium and forked and renamed the EOSIO 2.0 code base. The alliance was formed in January and consists of EOS, Telos, WAX, and UX Network. Each chain will share Antelope's underlying blockchain code base while simultaneously accelerating the development of the core protocol. The Antelope Github repository and website are now publicly available. Antelope is an open framework for building fast, secure, next-generation decentralized applications (dapps) and Web3 services. Improving the Antelope technology area was an initial goal of the consortium. Once this is achieved, the future EOSIO+ consortium will focus on building a broader ecosystem for the protocol.
