A16z changed its primary business model to telecommuting, but retained its materialization capabilities
On July 22, A16Z co-founder Ben Horowitz announced that the company's main business model will be telecommuting, with physical offices based on actual needs.
While the telecommuting model forced by the pandemic isn't perfect, Ben Horowitz says it's easier to fix the problems associated with telecommuting culture than the satisfaction problems associated with requiring employees to come to the office. In addition, while a16Z will henceforth be based in the "cloud", it will still use a physical office company to develop a corporate culture and connect with entrepreneurs, but retain the ability to materialise the company and will open three new offices in Miami, New York and Santa Monica.
