The United States launched a strike on Qeshm Island, which is a core node controlled by Iran for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

BlockBeats news, November 3 — U.S. officials said that the United States attacked Iran's Qeshm Island on Monday. This is the latest in a series of limited strikes Washington has secretly carried out against Iran in recent weeks; at the same time, Trump has publicly claimed that a diplomatic agreement between the two sides is still possible.

Qeshm Island is the largest island in the Persian Gulf, located immediately adjacent to the northern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz and only about 22 kilometers from Iran's important port of Bandar Abbas. The island is heavily militarized by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, with anti-ship missile positions, drone bases, surveillance radar, fast boats, and underground tunnel facilities deployed there, making it one of Iran's core nodes for controlling navigation through the strait and implementing anti-access/area denial.
