Trump to deliver midterm election sprint speech at Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

BlockBeats news, November 2 — A White House official said President Trump will deliver a speech at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool today as his final formal campaign appearance before the midterm elections, aimed at helping Republicans retain control of Congress. The elections are scheduled for the following day.

The Reflecting Pool is one of the renovation projects Trump has pushed this year: it reopened on June 9, was closed after damage following July 4 celebrations, and reopened again on October 29. Trump told reporters on Sunday that the pool had been severely damaged and that a large number of cameras had now been installed; the pool "had been leaking badly since 1922 and is now working well." The pool was built in the 1920s and is about 2,030 feet long; during the renovation, the bottom was coated with what Trump calls "American flag blue" industrial-grade pool coating. Organizations including the Cultural Landscape Foundation have criticized the lack of transparency in the process and sued the Interior Department over the coloring.

In the final stretch, Trump held consecutive rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday and arranged nearly 20 phone canvassing events; since October 1, he has held about two dozen rallies in roughly 19 states. National polls and multiple analysts still predict Republicans will suffer major losses in the 2026 midterm elections, with early voting in many states already exceeding 2022 levels.
