OpenCode Regains Support for Claude Subscriptions: Forced Removal in March, This Time with Permission

Beating AI News Flash: Open-source AI coding tool OpenCode has reintroduced Claude subscription support in v2.2.3. Users simply need to install and log in to Claude Code, then select "Claude Agent" in OpenCode to directly use their existing subscription quota without purchasing additional API access.

In March of this year, OpenCode removed the built-in Claude subscription login plugin due to legal requests from Anthropic. This time, it has switched to the official Claude Agent SDK, calling the user's locally installed Claude Code, which directly sends model requests to Anthropic. OpenCode does not read login credentials.

Developer Daniel Smolsky also explicitly stated on GitHub that the team has obtained permission from Anthropic and is in compliance with the terms of service.
