OpenAI announced a doubling of quotas, only to be exposed later that ChatGPT and Codex will share quotas in December.

Beating AI News Flash: Tibor Blaho, the "bald guy" who frequently leaks AI product updates, discovered that the ChatGPT web version subscription checkout page contains a new notice: "Starting in December, ChatGPT and Codex will share plan usage quotas."

Yesterday, some users also noticed that ChatGPT popped up a prompt about merging Chat and Work. Tibo later clarified that the team does indeed plan to integrate the two this year, but it has not yet officially launched.

Now it appears that OpenAI is not only preparing to unify the chat and work entry points, but may also adjust the quota calculation method at the same time. In fact, Claude has always done it this way—unexpectedly, ChatGPT has finally followed suit.

However, just after OpenAI announced that Pro and other plans would have their quotas doubled, this undisclosed new rule was uncovered. Playing the old trick of "three in the morning, four in the evening," it seems they are treating users like monkeys.
