Cysic cross-chain bridge has been restored and approximately 7.2 million CYS tokens have been permanently burned on BNB Chain.

BlockBeats news, October 29: Cysic officially announced that following a security incident involving its cross-chain bridge, operations have now fully resumed. Users can continue to bridge CYS between the Cysic mainnet and other supported chains, and 7,200,002 CYS have been permanently burned on BNB Smart Chain.

Previously, on October 17, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the cross-chain bridge's message processing to unauthorized mint 10 million CYS, subsequently selling approximately 7.2 million and transferring about $727,000 in proceeds to Ethereum. Cysic then suspended bridging and blacklisted addresses, freezing the remaining approximately 2.8 million. The project team stated that mainnet and user wallet assets were unaffected. The foundation previously announced plans to burn approximately 7.2 million CYS from reserves to offset the unauthorized minting and recalibrate tokenomics, and two burn transactions have now been completed.
