BlockBeats news, October 26 — Anthropic disclosed that the company expects to pay Google up to approximately $114.5 billion by 2033, and under its lease arrangement with Broadcom, to pay approximately $161.2 billion in rent over the lease term (excluding interest).
Anthropic stated that computing and infrastructure costs are expected to continue increasing in absolute terms and will become the company's largest operating expense for the foreseeable future. The company believes its existing available cash and cash equivalents are sufficient to meet its working capital and other needs for at least the next 12 months, but also warned that it may need to seek additional financing sooner than currently expected.
On the security front, Anthropic said it recently delayed pre-training of its next-generation frontier foundation model by more than a month to strengthen security measures and prevent leakage of model weights. The company also noted that as AI systems gradually automate AI research and development, the associated risks will increase accordingly.
