BlockBeats news, October 26: Blast reached the deadline for its regular withdrawal interface today, but approximately $40.41 million in assets remain in its official Ethereum mainnet cross-chain bridge. The amount has decreased by about 36% from approximately $63.5 million on October 2. Blast announced on October 2 that it would gradually shut down the Layer 2 network, citing operating costs exceeding revenue and the lack of a credible path to economic sustainability.
Blast previously stated that after October 26, users can still withdraw assets, but they need to interact directly with the bridge contract on Ethereum rather than relying on the regular website interface. As of the time of reporting, Blast's official website still displays the withdrawal portal and a notice about the network's gradual shutdown. Blast has published contract-level withdrawal guides for ETH, USDB, and BLAST. The relevant operations involve initiating a withdrawal on the Blast network, waiting for the transaction's corresponding state record to be submitted to Ethereum, submitting the withdrawal proof through the OptimismPortal contract, and then going through a one-day challenge period and executing the final confirmation transaction.
