US Democrats may launch a new round of investigative actions against Musk, involving the use of government funds, potential conflicts of interest, and more.

BlockBeats news, October 21 - According to POLITICO, Democrats in the U.S. Congress are formulating plans for a potential new round of oversight investigations, with Elon Musk and his companies becoming key targets. If Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives after the November midterm elections, SpaceX's government contracts, federal subsidies obtained by Tesla, and Musk's actions during his previous leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could all be subject to congressional investigation.

The report states that several senior Democratic lawmakers and congressional staffers are discussing investigative actions that different committees could take, involving the use of government funds, potential conflicts of interest, access to sensitive data, and the issue of SpaceX providing military satellite communication services to Ukraine. Sara Guerrero, spokesperson for Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said that Democrats have many questions about Musk's activities during DOGE and plan to investigate them.

Musk's spokesperson did not respond to multiple requests for comment from POLITICO. Currently, the related investigations are still mainly in the planning and discussion stage, and whether they can formally proceed depends on the congressional power structure after the midterm elections.
