BlockBeats news, October 20 - According to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that AI cloud computing company Nscale is in talks with Anthropic for a computing power supply agreement worth approximately $45 billion, which could be finalized as early as the coming days. No final decision has been made yet, and transaction details may still change. Both parties declined to comment.
The agreement involves the second building at Nscale's Monarch data center campus in West Virginia, USA, and plans to use Nvidia Vera Rubin AI chips to provide 460 megawatts of computing power. According to Nscale's IPO filing, Anthropic had previously signed an infrastructure agreement with it worth up to approximately $44.6 billion, and this is the second large-scale agreement under discussion.
Nscale is seeking to list at a valuation of approximately $30 billion, but some investors had previously urged it to lower its valuation target. The company publicly submitted its US listing application in September and is currently addressing feedback from the US SEC on its filing, and has not yet officially launched its IPO roadshow. Nscale completed $3.36 billion in pre-IPO financing last month, led by Third Point, with participation from Nvidia, Apollo, and others.
