The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has ordered the exclusion of DeepSeek products from civilian government agency systems.

BlockBeats news, October 19 - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on Monday that it requires information technology products and services developed by Chinese AI company Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd. (DeepSeek) and its affiliated entities to be excluded from the procurement scope of federal civilian executive branch agencies and removed from the IT systems of relevant agencies.

According to the notice, the order also requires the removal of all DeepSeek and affiliated entity products, as well as third-party products and services implemented using DeepSeek. The order was made pursuant to the Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Act of 2018 and related implementing regulations, following prior review of recommendations and supporting evidence from the Federal Acquisition Security Council.
