BlockBeats news, October 18 - Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier, responding to criticism from former Mt.Gox CEO Mark Karpelès, said: "Coming from the Mt.Gox CEO... come on, you're no white knight, be realistic."
Previously, Karpelès criticized Ledger for insufficient communication regarding hardware implant attacks, arguing that more adequate communication at the time, rather than just placing an article in Ledger Academy, could have prevented over $90 million in losses. He also questioned why Ledger did not maintain high vigilance against mass-produced advanced implant components.
Karpelès subsequently responded that Mt.Gox is unrelated to this matter, and pointed out that Ledger received multiple reports of implant components in early 2026, and a public article in March had already displayed advanced mass-produced implant components. He stated that he had expected Ledger to learn from Mt.Gox's failure and handle security and information disclosure issues with higher standards.
