DeepSeek Integrates Four Teams to Form Product Department: Former Jane Street Engineer Cui Tianyi at the Helm

Beating AI News Flash: DeepSeek adjusts its organizational structure, integrating the Agent Harness, Web, App, and Platform teams into a Product Department, which will be uniformly responsible for product, design, and related R&D work.

On October 16, the new head, Cui Tianyi, confirmed this news to The Paper.

Cui Tianyi graduated from Zhejiang University with a degree in computer science, won 6 ACM Asia Regional gold medals, and worked for 9 years at the quantitative trading firm Jane Street.

In March of this year, he joined DeepSeek and was responsible for building the Agent Harness team. The DeepSeek Harness developed by this team was open-sourced in August, and in September it also launched Windows and macOS desktop preview versions.

This adjustment merges the team responsible for the Agent runtime framework with the web, App, and open platform teams. DeepSeek will no longer let underlying agent capabilities and user products advance separately, but instead place them under the coordinated management of the same department. The new department has also begun recruiting product managers and designers.
