Beating AI News Flash: A technical comparison report questions whether Tencent's WorkBuddy AI international version reused internal content from Claude Code. The report's author unpacked the WorkBuddy desktop client, compared the built-in CodeBuddy CLI with leaked Claude Code source code, and claims to have found 224 identical text segments, the longest being 494 characters. Among them, in Claude Code's memory management file `memoryTypes.ts` alone, 46 out of 69 candidate text segments appeared in WorkBuddy. The overlapping content includes internal prompts guiding AI on when to remember user corrections and approvals, not just ordinary tool names.
The report also claims that the WorkBuddy program retains 5 internal event names with the `tengu_` prefix, such as `tengu_goal_set`, as well as paths like `/tmp/claude` and `.claude/debug`. `tengu` is an internal codename used by Claude Code. However, Tencent CodeBuddy already supports Claude Code's plugin specifications, so some identical paths may also be for compatibility.
Although Claude Code is closed-source commercial software, approximately 510,000 lines of source code were accidentally leaked on March 31 this year.
