BlockBeats news, October 15: Tether's independent investment arm, Tether Capital, announced a strategic investment in AI agent services and payment platform AIsa, expanding its footprint in AI-driven payments and programmable money. The announcement did not disclose the investment amount.
AIsa integrates service access and payments into a single platform, allowing developers to use a unified interface to let AI agents call AI models, data, APIs, software tools, and computing resources. The platform supports usage-based billing in fiat or stablecoins, and businesses can set spending caps without having to manage separate subscriptions or contracts for each service provider.
AIsa says that more than 250,000 agents are currently running on the platform, over 100 million transactions have been processed, and more than 5,000 APIs, skills, and models can be accessed through a single access key. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that as AI agents take on more work, users need to retain control over spending while authorizing their access to services, and AIsa is building the relevant infrastructure.
