BlockBeats news, October 15, according to Fortune, tokenized fund liquidity platform Fission announced the completion of a $10 million Series A funding round, led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital, and Ari Rubenstein. The funding round was completed in September, and the company did not disclose its valuation.
Fission aims to solve the problem of tokenized fund shares being difficult to quickly liquidate. The platform acts as a buyer, allowing investors to sell shares without having to wait for the fund to process redemptions. Users connect digital wallets and submit sell requests, and Fission handles the backend legal and transaction processes. CEO Jonathan Shaffer said that for products that typically take about 200 days to sell, investors can pay a fee to sell immediately and complete settlement in 90 seconds or less.
Fission was founded in 2024, with a founding team that includes former employees of Point72 and Securitize. Currently, its clients are mainly institutional investors and organizations holding on-chain assets, including hedge funds holding tokenized private credit or equity assets, crypto institutions managing treasuries, and stablecoin issuers allocating reserves to yield-bearing tokenized investment products.
