CME Group CEO: CFTC's Regulatory Authority Over Prediction Markets in Dispute, Case May Reach Supreme Court

BlockBeats news, October 13: Terrence Duffy, CEO of CME Group, stated that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) claim of regulatory authority over prediction markets is a "somewhat tenuous" assertion. Currently, as a potential legal showdown between U.S. states and the federal government approaches, the related dispute may ultimately be taken to the Supreme Court.

Duffy said on Tuesday at the Washington Fintech Week, "This matter will be heard by the Supreme Court, and I believe the states and the federal government will prevail."
