BlockBeats news, October 12: Solana treasury company DeFi Development Corp. (Nasdaq: DFDV) announced on October 12 that its treasury holdings increased by approximately 22,070 SOL and equivalent assets over the past week, bringing total holdings to approximately 2.5863 million, up about 12% from August 12 when its second-quarter earnings were released. The company said it will continue to accumulate SOL through sustained purchases and on-chain yield, and has established a $300 million at-the-market offering program (CHAD ATM) to provide funding for further accumulation.
Meanwhile, the company's floating-rate perpetual preferred stock CHAD rose against the trend and hit an all-time high trading price during the week ended October 9, despite an overall weakening in the crypto market during the same period. The company said CHAD currently has an annualized dividend rate of 13%, which equates to $1.30 per year based on a stated amount of $10 per share, with dividends paid every business day when declared by the company. The company said CHAD can provide a financing channel for SOL treasury expansion and offer holders income opportunities tied to SOL asset yields.
Note that 13% is the current dividend rate and not a guaranteed return; dividends must be declared by the company before payment, and future dividend rates and share prices may change.
