Bitcoin started the week cautiously, weighed down by a strengthening dollar and rising US Treasury yields.

BlockBeats news, October 12 - Amid a stronger dollar and rising U.S. Treasury yields, the market opened the week cautiously. Bitcoin traded above $83,000, while gold hovered around $4,180 per ounce, both down about 0.5%. Tech stock futures edged lower, WTI crude rose above $92 per barrel, and the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) remained above 102.4.

U.S. inflation data due on Wednesday will be the market's focal point this week. The market expects core CPI year-over-year at 2.5% and headline CPI year-over-year at 3.7%. If in line with expectations, this would mark a reacceleration from last month and could further influence market judgments on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy.

Additionally, according to The Information, IREN, which has shifted from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure business, has reached a multi-year cloud services agreement with AI company Anthropic. Following the announcement, IREN's U.S. shares rose about 4% in pre-market trading.
