U.S. stock night session saw a rebound in semiconductors, optical communications, and storage concepts; LITE CEO said that optical component capacity is fully sold out through early 2029.

BlockBeats news, October 9th, according to BIT(bit.com) market data, semiconductor, optical communication, and storage concepts rebounded in U.S. stock night trading, with Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) up nearly 5%; Lumentum (LITE) up 3%.


Michael Hurlston, CEO of optical communication leader Lumentum, said today that as tech companies race to build faster AI data centers, the company's optical device production capacity through early 2029 has been completely sold out, with about 70% of demand for some products still unmet by next year, and another 30% of demand for some products still unmet through 2028. In April this year, Hurlston said he expected that within two quarters, full-year 2028 production capacity would be fully booked.
