Workers IO Launches: Subjecting Software to Millions of 'Accidents' Before Going Live

Beating AI News Flash: YC-incubated startup Workers IO has launched a software testing platform of the same name. It places entire software systems into virtual environments, repeatedly simulating server crashes, network latency, database failures, and other conditions. The company claims the platform can explore millions of runtime combinations to identify bugs that ordinary testing easily misses.

Each test alters conditions such as the timing of failures and the order in which requests are executed, searching for edge cases prone to errors. Once a bug is found, the platform can fully reproduce the runtime process at that moment. Developers or coding agents like Claude Code can use this to troubleshoot issues, modify the code, and then verify it under the same conditions. It can also accelerate simulated time to uncover problems that only emerge after software has been running for a long time.

The official website demonstrated a payment case. A bank interface timed out midway; the program retried and the deduction succeeded, but no receipt was generated. The platform tried 128 different condition sets, found the scenario that triggered the error, and successfully reproduced it. Workers IO primarily targets systems with high reliability requirements, such as payments, trading, and infrastructure. The starter version is currently $20 per month, and the professional version is $500 per month.
