Grok Bot now offers free X searches: no account binding required, and it can automatically track trending topics.

Beating AI News Flash: SpaceXAI has updated the X search and monitoring capabilities of its AI assistant Grok Bot. All Grok Bot users can now have the Bot collect posts and track topics without needing to link an X account or configure a connector. For example, continuously monitoring user reviews of a product, tracking breaking news, or regularly compiling industry updates.

Grok Bot was integrated with X as early as August, but at that time it required linking an account and querying posts through the X API. Now it can directly use built-in tools to search and read X. Combined with its existing scheduled task feature, the Bot can also periodically check for the latest posts, compile them, and send the results back to the conversation.

Grok Bot developers revealed that querying X previously incurred fees, but now read-only queries are free, though rate limits still apply. Non-read-only operations such as posting still require configuring an X connector. The official specific free query quota has not yet been announced.
