动察 Beating AI News Flash: Google Labs launches AI game platform Playground. Users can generate playable web games simply by describing their ideas in text, without any programming experience. They can create from scratch or choose genres like quiz, tower defense, and racing, and specify 2D or 3D, single-player or multiplayer gameplay.
After generation, users can also modify game rules, characters, scenes, and physics through chat. The platform also supports uploading images for AI to turn them into game assets. Finished games can run in mobile and desktop browsers, and can be shared via links or published to the community for others to play. Some game genres support multiplayer online play and leaderboards.
Playground uses models including Gemini, Nano Banana, and Lyria. Free users can also generate games, but with weekly quota limits. Eligible Google One AI subscribers can get higher quotas.
Google also announced a partnership with Unity, planning to integrate Unity Spark to let users create 3D games with more complex mechanics and more refined graphics. However, Spark is still in testing and has not yet been officially released.
Playground is currently only available to users aged 18 and above in the United States.
