Sequoia and Linear bet on a 54-gram AI wearable screen, raising hundreds of millions before going public.

动察 Beating AI News Flash: Shenzhen-based AI hardware company NOOKLAB has completed several rounds of financing, with investors including Sequoia China and Linear Capital. The cumulative funding amounts to hundreds of millions of yuan, and the valuation is close to 100 million USD. The two rounds of financing were concentrated in early this year. At that time, founder Zhao Yue had just left ByteDance about 3 months earlier, and the company had not yet launched a product.

NOOKLAB's first product, Moonphase Flip, is an AI e-ink screen that magnetically attaches to the back of a phone. It weighs 54 grams, is 4.65 millimeters thick, is equipped with 6 microphones, and has a battery life of more than two days. According to the official introduction, after the user starts recording, the AI can extract schedules, commitments, and to-do items from the conversation and display them directly on the rear screen. Users can view them by flipping over the phone without opening an app to search for records.

It also plans to combine calendars and historical conversations to prepare meeting materials in advance, generate meeting summaries, and draft follow-up emails. The product is expected to go on sale in small batches in December, and independent hands-on testing is still lacking.

Similar products have already appeared. Flowtica's Verso also combines recording and an e-ink screen, but it weighs 98 grams. Moonphase Flip focuses on being thinner and lighter and causing fewer notification distractions. As for whether the AI can accurately identify users' commitments and complete follow-up tasks, actual verification is still needed.
