BlockBeats news, October 7 — According to Bloomberg, Intel CEO Chen Liwu said in an interview in Tokyo on October 7 that Intel will continue to participate in Musk's Terafab project. Intel signed on as a development partner for the project in April this year, and this statement means the company has not currently withdrawn from the project.
Previously, Musk revealed that he was discussing potential cooperation with TSMC on Terafab, a move that sparked concerns that Intel's role in the project could be affected after TSMC's involvement, and Intel's stock price fell as much as 3.9%.
Terafab is an important plan in Musk's push into advanced chip manufacturing. As AI infrastructure continues to expand, global demand for chips and related equipment is growing, and many types of supply chain links are facing capacity pressure. Bloomberg previously reported that Musk has asked suppliers to accelerate progress on Terafab, and suppliers of ball bearings, chip manufacturing equipment, industrial chemicals, and guide rails are all currently under heavy load.
