动察 Beating AI news flash: Anthropic expands the Claude Startups support program. The old rules allowed early-stage startup teams to join the program, but to get API credits and additional benefits, they had to have already received institutional equity investment. Now, companies founded no more than 5 years ago, or that have received funding in the last 2 years, can apply. Anthropic explicitly states that self-funded, pre-seed stage, and venture-backed startups are all within scope.
Approved companies can use Claude Team free for 1 year, with up to 5 Premium seats. Each company also receives $1,000 in Claude API credits, valid for 6 months. The free Team eligibility is only available to companies that have not previously subscribed to Team.
Anthropic has also launched the Claude Startup Stack. Companies such as Linear, Lovable, ElevenLabs, Granola, and Hex will provide discounts and credits, with a stated total value of up to $45,000. Members can also book one-on-one technical Q&A sessions with Anthropic's Applied AI team, and receive assistance with building Claude Marketplace connectors and plugins, submitting them for review, and related matters.
Among the terms for these additional benefits is a provision that is easy to overlook. If a startup discloses confidential information such as product architecture during consultations with Anthropic Applied AI, Anthropic may continue to use general ideas, experience, and techniques retained by employees from memory alone. The terms also explicitly state that Anthropic will not be restricted from independently developing similar or competing technologies, but it may not directly disclose such confidential information, and no related patent or copyright license is granted.
