动察 Beating AI news flash: According to Taiwanese media reports, Taiwan-based memory manufacturer Nanya Technology has recently notified customers that it will once again raise DRAM contract prices, with an increase of up to 20%. In response to related market rumors, Nanya Technology said it does not comment on matters related to customer pricing. Industry insiders believe that the new round of price increases is expected to gradually pass through to the market and boost Nanya Technology's average selling price (ASP) and profitability.
TrendForce expects that in the fourth quarter of 2026, the overall DRAM market will remain in a state of supply shortage, with conventional DRAM contract prices rising 10% to 15% quarter-on-quarter; consumer-grade DRAM, due to continued production cuts by major manufacturers, will have supply highly dependent on Taiwanese manufacturers, and prices will continue to trend upward.
Growing AI computing demand is continuing to drive up demand for server DRAM and HBM, while advanced process capacity is shifting toward high-performance products, further squeezing the supply elasticity of conventional DRAM. Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have all recently been expanding or adjusting DRAM and HBM-related capacity and packaging layouts.
Micron's CEO previously said that amid continued demand growth and limited new capacity, no clear turning point has yet been seen for DRAM supply and demand to return to balance, and he expects HBM demand growth to continue outpacing conventional DRAM through 2028.
