Cohere North 2 launches: enterprise Agents begin to have memory, permissions, and budgets.

North is an AI work platform designed for internal company use, capable of integrating with enterprise documents, Slack, GitHub, and other systems, allowing employees to directly invoke Agents to look up information, run processes, and complete tasks.

North 2 adds cross-session memory to Agents. Employees no longer need to re-explain context each time, and teams can also share knowledge bases, Skills, Agents, and automated workflows, so common tasks do not need to be rebuilt from scratch repeatedly.

Companies can also set individual permissions for different users and Agents, restricting which data they can see, which models they can call, and which operations they can perform. Administrators can set token quotas, invocation frequency, and total usage limits, and sensitive operations can also require manual confirmation.

North supports cloud or private deployment, can achieve fully offline operation at the highest level, and can also integrate models beyond Cohere.
