BlockBeats news, October 6 — The Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows that Elon Musk's net worth increased by $65 billion on Monday, rising to $1.04 trillion, making him a trillionaire again after three months. The increase in his wealth mainly came from the rising value of his SpaceX and Tesla holdings; since the start of October, SpaceX shares have risen 13% and Tesla has risen 6.7%.
In June of this year, Musk became the world's first trillionaire after SpaceX completed a record IPO, but the company's stock price subsequently fell amid concerns about an excessive valuation, causing him to quickly lose that status. By late July, Musk's wealth had fallen by more than $600 billion from its peak.
Recently, market expectations for both companies have improved somewhat. SpaceX shares have rebounded 58% from their August low, and Morgan Stanley called it one of the lower-valuation ways to participate in potential growth opportunities in the space and intelligence industries; Tesla also reported third-quarter sales last week that were higher than expected. Musk's SpaceX and Tesla holdings account for more than 98% of his net worth.
