BlockBeats news, October 4: Pump.fun co-founder Alon posted regarding the platform's $15 million Callout reward, stating that the program was launched two months ago, but the first version of the mechanism unintentionally incentivized the wrong behavior, leading to low-quality spam and weakening users' willingness to create high-quality content.
Pump.fun subsequently adjusted the reward algorithm to place more emphasis on quality rather than quantity: the more Callouts a user posts each day, the lower the marginal return. The mechanism is moving in the right direction through iteration, but much work remains to enable large-scale users to consistently produce high-quality content.
Rewards have already covered top accounts as well as accounts with fewer than 10 followers, and there is no favoritism or preferential treatment. He advised users to focus on recommending high-quality tokens, build trader trust through content, and receive rewards based on trading volume attributed to their Callouts. He emphasized that spamming Callouts or dumping on followers will not work.
