Abstract faces frequent criticism, the founder's account has removed related identifiers, and core developers have been silent for months and have begun transferring funds.

BlockBeats news, October 1: Abstract, the consumer-grade Ethereum L2 chain under Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, faced widespread community criticism yesterday. On one hand, Pudgy Penguins founder Luca Netz removed the Abstract identifier from his X account ID yesterday; during the same period, community sources alleged that a wallet associated with core developer Cygaar is moving funds out from the Abstract chain, while Cygaar's X account has been silent since June 2026.

In August of this year, Abstract chain ecosystem lead (Mason) and product lead (0xBeans) both resigned. The official Abstract chain account has also entered a semi-dormant state. As a result, the community is concerned that Abstract may be about to shut down.

As of press time, there has been no official response to the community's concerns.
