BlockBeats news, October 1st, CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. stated that Bitcoin's current price is about 14% higher than the short-term holder (STH) cost basis of $73,700. Over the past week, the STH cost basis rose by 1.2%, from $72,800 to $73,700, while Bitcoin's price remained essentially flat. Currently, the average unrealized profit for short-term holders is 13.7%, down from 15.4% a week ago.
Meanwhile, the long-term holder (LTH) cost basis decreased by 0.3% over the past week, from $48,900 to $48,800. Bitcoin's current price is 72% higher than this level, meaning long-term holders still maintain relatively high unrealized profits. A decline in the long-term holder cost basis does not necessarily mean selling; it may also be related to some coins above the average cost being transferred into the short-term holder group.
Currently, Bitcoin's price remains above the average cost basis of both types of holders. Data shows that the STH cost basis has continued to rise since August 20th, but the recent increase has slowed from 2.2% in the week of September 23rd to 1.2%. If Bitcoin's price growth again exceeds the growth rate of the short-term holder cost basis, its profit margin will further expand.
