BlockBeats news, October 1st, according to foreign media reports, Japan's largest power producer JERA will collaborate with Dell (DELL.N) and UK-headquartered AI infrastructure developer RHAELM to accelerate the construction of AI infrastructure in Japan.
The three parties signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing a standardized framework for AI infrastructure development across Japan. The three companies stated in a joint announcement that the model will first be applied to a project in Chiba. JERA will provide land adjacent to its Chiba power station in Chiba, while RHAELM will be responsible for developing, constructing, operating, and financing a 400-megawatt-class hyperscale AI data center.
A JERA official said the two sides plan to phase in the new data center by 2028 and reach full capacity of 400 megawatts by 2029. Under a 15- to 25-year agreement, JERA will provide 400 megawatts of power capacity, while Dell will supply standardized rack-level AI infrastructure.
