Kling 4.0 extends a single video to 30 seconds, launching in October.

Beating AI News Flash: Kuaishou Kling teases Kling 4.0, with the official version set to launch in October. Kling 4.0 Flash is already available for early access to Black Gold Annual Card members. The new version increases the maximum length of a single native video to 30 seconds, up from a previous maximum of 15 seconds in Kling 3.0.

Control capabilities have also been further enhanced. Kling 4.0 supports up to 10 keyframes, allowing users to preset character states, scene changes, and plot points in advance. Images, videos, and subjects can also be mixed as inputs, with support for up to 15 multimodal references in a single session.

Video editing has also been made more granular. Users can directly modify characters, backgrounds, weather, colors, materials, and camera shots in the original video, or use another video as a reference to reuse its camera movement, actions, and narrative rhythm to generate new content.

Audio-visual capabilities have been upgraded as well. Kling 4.0 supports dual-channel stereo and strengthens complex camera movements, lip sync, and multilingual dialogue. 4K and 1080p 10-bit HDR output are also planned but have not yet been made available.

Videos also support multiple extensions, with a maximum extension of up to 2 minutes. This feature has also not yet launched. Kling 4.0 Flash focuses on faster generation and lower cost, though the company has not yet disclosed specific pricing or speed data. Both the official version and the API are planned for release in October.
